As the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, UMC provides the highest level of care in the state, with the only Level I Trauma Center and only Designated Pediatric Trauma Center. By combining UMC’s acute care with neighboring specialties, Southern Nevadans now have a concentrated center for medical excellence.
UNLV has a decade-long history of educating dental and nursing students in the Las Vegas Medical District, and we are excited by the prospect of placing our medical school in this area. Being surrounded by experienced practitioners benefits our students and allows for strategic opportunities to partner with the medical community and positively impact health care in Southern Nevada.
Since opening our doors in 2009, Cleveland Clinic has treated patients for a variety of degenerative brain disorders, completed more than 65 clinical trials to advance new drug therapies, published more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and provided 26,000 visits to free educational and supportive services to families throughout the Las Vegas valley who are affected by brain disorders. We have also delivered 32,000 of hours of free training to aspiring medical professionals, and 1,900 hour continuing medical education to our practicing local medical community. We are proud to be doing all of this in the Las Vegas Medical District.
Valley Hospital has been caring for patients since 1972. During the past four decades, the Las Vegas Medical District has developed into a hub for hospitals, physicians, diagnostic services like lab and radiology, medical supplies and advanced medical education. It’s an outstanding location for educators to teach, for our future health care professionals to learn, and for patients to receive the newest and most technically advanced health care with virtually every medical service necessary offered in our neighborhood.

As the largest radiology practice in Nevada, we are proud to be headquartered in the Las Vegas Medical District. It’s the central hub for our practice with six – soon to be seven – centers throughout the valley. For us, the Medical District provides a synergy with and proximity to many of our hospital and healthcare partners, medical organizations and educational institutions that is so crucial for our patients.
The Southern Nevada Health District opened its main public health center at 280 S. Decatur Blvd. in January 2016. This facility is just minutes away from the medical district and our health care partners. Our central location allows continued accessibility to both clients and stakeholders. The Health District provides a wealth of public health services to the community, and this continued collaboration with our medical partners is of benefit to the health and well-being of all Southern Nevadans.
