Right here in Las Vegas — arguably the fight capital of the world — professional fighters and researchers alike are asking: “why is it that after similar exposure to repeated head trauma, many fighters remain unaffected, yet some individuals experience cognitive decline?”

More than 725 active and retired professional fighters such as Rudy Morales have chosen to participate in the Professional Fighters Brain Health Study at Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health to learn more.

Dr. Charles Bernick, Principal Investigator on this research study, has practiced in the Las Vegas Medical District since 1994. He is just one of the board-certified neurologists at The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, where physician-scientists are studying and treating the mysteries of the brain across Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis…and now, fighters.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Cleveland Clinic the No. 2 hospital nationally, and it’s now serving Nevadans and our visitors.
